Jasper is a 10 year old Wheaton Terrier. He was diagnosed with Addison's disease in 2003 and receives monthly injections to replace Cortisol levels in his body. Addison's disease is a very rare disorder that can affect many breeds, and is considered the great "mimicker" because it mimics many other diseases, and is difficult to diagnose. Jasper was weak and had periodic episodes of vomiting, weight loss, and diarrhea prior to the diagnosis. Today, he is a healthy robust terrier. Whenever he comes into our hospital for his monthly injection, his tail is a waggin and he is full of spirit. All of us love his energy and that is why Jasper is our patient of the month.
