Pippin Tucci

Pippin, a beautiful black Standard Poodle was a frequent patient here at the end of 2010. First, she deeply sliced her foot open when out running in the woods. The surgery required a reconnection of ligaments and vessels and many office visits with bandage changes. When we finally got her foot healed, Pippin became acutely ill and refused to eat. Kidney disease was found on the labwork, but this was not the real problem. Through more diagnostics, Pippin had an adrenal disorder called Addison's disease that causes kidney failure. Once the Addison's disease is addressed, the kidney disease goes away. We are happy to report that Pippin is doing very well and that is why she was chosen to be our January patient of the month.
