Spike Kucera

Spike is a 3 year old Chinese Crested companion owned by the Kucera's of Augusta. Spike is quite an unusual breed because he is considered of the hairless variety of the crested breed. This breed dates far back in antiquity and although many believe originated from China, the latest thinking is that the breed is from Africa. Spike has quite a unique history with his family, because he broke both of his front legs at only 3 months of age requiring surgery to repair them. The broken legs did not slow him or his personality down and today he is full grown and lively. Spike's striking breed appearance and his unusual early beginnings with our hospital is why he is our patient of the month for March 2011.
